Jagjiwan College, Ara is one of the oldest prestigious and constituent unit of VKSU., Ara founded by BABU JAGJIWAN RAM JI late Dy. Prime Minister of India in 1959. Our college is accredited by NAAC B+. We are imparting education in arts and science from Intermediate to degree level.
Our mission is to impart value added and job oriented education with emphasis on morality and ethics to our students who come from rural background and down trodden families. We educate and train them in such a way that they can meet the global challenges. We are providing well equipped library, science & arts labs, computer labs as well as smart classes facilities to impart quality education to our students by our learned and devoted teachers of the college.
With this objective we have commenced KOREAN LANGUAGE STUDY CENTRE and are likely to introduce FRENCH LANGUAGE STUDY CENTRE at our college campus very soon to provide job in multinational Companies in our country and opportunities in abroad. We are likely to start vocational/professional courses in our college such as BBA, BCA and Communication Skill & Personality Development in the current academic session.
In near future we are likely to commence PG Courses in Physics, Chemistry & Math in science as well as Political Science in Arts which have been approved by the Academic council and Syndicate of the university and these courses are under process. In near future we are also likely to introduce Entrepreneurship and Commerce Courses which is the need of the hour for fetching Jobs.
Our college has sent the proposal of Jagjiwan Babu Chair to Jagjiwan Ram National Foundation, New Delhi to impart research on the philosophy of Babu Ji on Political, Social and Economic Issues. The chair will also provide training to SC/ST and down trodden women for self employment/ self reliant.
With an idea to promote leadership and social services our NSS volunteers are providing Social Services in Rural & Extremely backward areas. One of our NSS volunteer has been selected for Republic Day Parade at New Delhi. Our NCC Cadets have performed well and participated in Republic Day Parade at New Delhi. Our college is organizing Sports, cultural activities and debates/seminars on regular intervals.
Our college is going to build a big Girls Hostel in the college campus by Bihar State Education Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd., Patna costing Rs. 1.6 Crores to provide modern accommodation facilities to our Girls Students.We are also making our honest attempt to construct a separate library building and class rooms.
In near future our college will take U-turn in academic and infrastructure development. It is the only constituent college of the university which is imparting foreign language. Hope, in 2nd cycle of accreditation our college will improve its grading from B+.
